What is being called?

Calling

The first thing we need to think, struggle and wrestle with when pursuing vocational ministry is “calling”.

1. What is a calling?
2. How do I know that I am called?
3. What do I do when I know that I have been called?

The misconception is that only those gifted in speaking are called to be in ministry. WRONG. If you are a believer in Jesus Christ YOU have BEEN called to GO and make disciples, to Love God and Love People. ALL believers have been gifted to do “works” that Christ has prepared for YOU in ADVANCE. See Ephesians 2:8-10.

Ezra & Scripture

Recently, while reading Scripture, I came across a verse that stood out and struck me in such a way that I wanted to pass it on to you. I was reading from the book of Ezra, and I came across verse ten of chapter seven.

For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the Lord, and to teaching its decree and laws in Israel. Ezra 7:10

If anyone could have an excuse to walk away from God, it would have been Ezra. Ezra was a part of the Babylonian exile, and because of this experience he could turned away, and wondered where God was. Continue reading →
