Separated

Have you ever been separated from someone in a busy place? Was it a frustrating feeling?

One of my biggest worries as a child was being separated from my family or my twin brother. I remember being in a busy mall department store with my mom and twin. I was the kid trying to keep an eye on mom and an eye on my brother. My brother was the type of kid with no worries and I worried enough for the both of us. I specifically remember me and my brother hiding inside one of the clothes racks, the ones with the perfect space in the middle to hide and not be seen by anyone. My mom knew where we were by the giggles from inside the rack. However, I knew deep down inside that my mom was leaving us behind.. I was worried. I would try and get my brother out and find my mom at the same time knowing that we were lost, separated with no way to get home.

Have you ever felt like your prayers hit the ceiling? Kind of like you were separated from God? Or maybe past mistakes keep creeping up and bringing you back down?

One of my favorite passages comes from the book of Romans and it talks about believers being so connected with God that not a single thing could ever separate us from Him! Check it out:
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

God, through His Son Jesus, has freed us from sin and made a way for us to be inseparable from relationship with Him. The next time you feel defeated or separated, know that as long as you have accepted the gift of salvation, nothing is able to separate you from God.
