Leadership On the Go: Choices

This is the third in the series, Rules to Live By, which will focus on leadership and choices. As Leaders, choices are a given at any moment of our day. However, there are many leaders who make choices without weighing the ramifications of said choices.
This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, Deuteronomy 30:19-20

As a LEADER what will YOU choose?

In today’s world of texting, FaceTime, and email at your fingertips Leaders are expected to make choices/decisions as quickly as they receive the request. How then can we as leaders make the right choices quickly? Here are some quick steps:

  • Lean on God.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
  • Seek Advise.
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. Proverbs 15:22
When we have the opportunity to make choices/decisions we need to seek God and wise counsel before we make hasty decisions. Before smart phones we had to get to a computer to check our email; so who cares if 30 minutes to an hour pass before we choose?
Next time you need to make a decision quickly, hit your knees in prayer and seek wise counsel, IN THAT ORDER.
