Ever wonder what the best selling book of all-time is? Those who read my blog probably already know, and from the title of this post it’s fairly obvious… The Bible. HowStuffWorks has put out a list of best selling books, and you can find the list here.
The fact that the Bible is the best selling book of all-time should be a measure of the times we’re living in, sadly it is not. If the Bible is the best selling book, shouldn’t there be less ignorance to it’s teachings?
Before we can know about our beliefs, doctrinal topics and apologetics there needs to be a foundation with which to base them on, that is the Bible.
Wayne Grudem, in his book, “Christian Beliefs” lays out said foundation in four areas God speaks of His Word. (will be discussed in posts to come)
Authority
Clarity
Necessity
Sufficiency
2 Timothy 3:15-17 says,
…the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
1. ALL Scripture is God-breathed
2.Makes you wise for SALVATION
3.useful for TEACHING
4.useful for REBUKING
5.useful for CORRECTING
6.Training in Righteousness (Right-Living)
All of these things from Scripture so that we will know and be equipped to do that which God has created us for.
