But if I say, “I will not mention him[God] or speak any more in his name,” his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot. Jeremiah 20:9-10
Prophets spoke the words of God to those who had ears to hear. Jeremiah, in this verse, speaks of the passion that he has for speaking God’s word. Jeremiah was a prophet, simply because God chose him and equipped him to do this work. And Jeremiah felt deep inside himself, that if he did not speak God’s word, it would burn until he let it out. You are in a place of leadership because God has allowed you to be there.
Like Jeremiah, leaders often need to speak out their ideas and plans in order to feel relief. Do you have a group of people with which to bounce your ideas off of? Leaders that refuse to allow others into the discussion of your ideas and dreams, will cease to lead effectively.
Are you a leader who casts vision? Are you a leader who cannot help but to share your faith? What can you do this week to share your vision with your staff?
