Thoughts from Genesis 4

Here is another entry from my Chronological Bible Reading.
Genesis 4:7
“If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.”
It seems, that from the beginning, that sin is crouching at the door. God has outlined the plan for Adam and Eve and now He is reminding Cain.

Do what is right.

I know that in my life, I must be reminded of this often. If I do what is right things generally seem to go better. I am not saying that everything will be wonderful at all times, but I am saying that there seems to be a peace when we do what is right in the eyes of God.

Sin is the problem.

Do we deal with sin when it crouches in our lives? Or, do we allow it to overcome us and separate our spirit from the Holy Spirit? If we allow it to, sin will destroy our relationships and damage our testimony.
Deal with sin. Deal with it often. Deal with it as soon as you can so that you may not be overcome. Look to the Cross; look to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
