Fostering Grace

From time to time there will be huge circumstances in our lives. Some of these circumstances will be good, and some will be pretty tough.

Many of you know that my family is a foster family. We knew going into the foster care system that it could get tough… A judge determined today that the little boy who has been a part of our family for close to two years will be given to the grandparents temporarily. Meaning we will be out of the picture. We will pray and support him any way that we can but right now this is one of the most toughest things our family has faced.

I am writing to get my feelings out, but also that someone else would be comforted in there time of need.

I am reminded of Paul pleading with God to remove a thorn in his flesh and getting this response:

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Granted this thorn could have been physical in nature but I feel it fits in any time of weakness.

Please continue to pray for my family in this time of transition.

Thank you.

  1. I’m so sorry and will pray for your family to find peace with this situation. God has a great plan for Brayden.

    1. Praying Ryan. I am reminded that He clings to us, and that has been very comforting to me when faced with feeling torn from someone very dear to us. I pray the Lord will hold and protect your little foster child in your family’s absence. I pray he also holds you and your little family close to His bosom as a mother holds her newborn child. Hold on to His promises.

  2. Prayers for your family! I have been involved in foster care for over 20 years and I know what you all are feeling. Know that you were a light when he needed you most! He may never know but… God does.
